Founded in 1926 by industry visionaries, OTA has been an innovative, responsible and results oriented organization from day one. Few other trade organizations in Canada are as effective, or as widely recognized throughout North America and the rest of the world. OTA members share a common philosophy that is contained in the OTA Guiding Principles.

The starting point is a strong, visionary membership. This must be followed up by a dedicated, professional organization. The Ontario Trucking Association and the Canadian Trucking Alliance are two such organizations. (CTA is a federation of the provincial trucking associations. OTA ensure the voice of the trucking industry is heard on any issue that

affects it. OTA consults and communicates regularly with its membership to gain a full understanding of the issues that matter most. This information is used to develop policies at the OTA Board level and is then presented to governments, journalists and the public.
